about
Emiliyan Todorov born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is a stage designer based in Germany.
Since 2023 he has been studying stage design at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the class of Prof. Lena Newton.
His artistic focus lies in the development of stage concepts for the performing arts. He is particularly interested in social and political theatre, in which he searches for new forms of discourse and mediation. In his work, he explores the possibilities of the stage as a transformable and abstract landscape and examines the relationships between space, body, and social context.
Alongside his stage work, Emiliyan works on independent and interdisciplinary projects, where he further develops his experimental approach and explores new perspectives on the connection between art, the public sphere, and political sensitivity.
